Injury Update - Steve Mandanda Out of World Cup
France backup goalkeeper Steve Mandanda announced that he's going to miss the World Cup due to the injury he suffered in the first half of the last French League match of Marseille against Guingamp
He lost his consciousness when Mandanda's head collided with Guingamp striker Mustafa Yatabere's knee and was rushed to a hospital. It was diagnosed that he suffered a broken vertebra and a sprain in his neck. He is facing a recovery period of over six weeks before getting back on to the pitch
Marseille announced the injury on Sunday and Mandanda confirmed his exit from the tourney on twitter. It is now expected that Stephen Ruffier from the reserve list would replace Mandanda on the french squad
