Injury Update - Matias Fernandez Ruled Out

Chilean midfielder Matias Fernandez has been ruled out of the World Cup after he failed to recover from a persistent ankle problem for which he has been undergoing rehabilitation. Fernandez would put his ankle under knife and hope to be fit in three months time

Chile manager Jorge Sampaoli already decided to release three players, Esteban Paredes, Gustavo Canales and Enzo Andia, from the provisional squad and Fernadez's name would add to that list. Another Chile player Arturo Vidal is in race against time to be it after a knee surgery
