Injury Update - Luis Suarez Injured, Undergoing a Surgery

Uruguay's World Cup chances took a bit hit when it was reported that Luis Suarez would be undergoing a knee surgery to repair the meniscus damage suffered during training. Suarez, who scored 31 goals in 33 appearances for Uruguay, scored  is crucial to the team's prospects in the tourney

The striker suffered discomfort after twisting his knee during training and now he's undergoing a keyhole surgery procedure on Thursday. The recovery period for the process would be anything between 4-6 weeks. Although the Uruguayan camp were confident of his availability for the World Cup, it has to be seen how fit and ready he'd be for the opening match against Costa Rica in Brazil

He was instrumental in Liverpool's rise to the top place in English Premier League, they ended up in 2nd place. Suarez also topped the scoring charts in qualifying, with 11 goals he was joint leader along with van Persie

Oscar Tabarez plans to use the partnership of Suarez and Cavani to destroy their opponents defenses but now those schemes were put into turmoil.
