Mile Jedinak would captain the Australia squad, "that would make the nation proud" according to coach Ange Postecoglou. The final 23-man squad which includes regulars Bresciano, Cahill and Milligan who would be appearing in their third finals
Backup goalkeeper Mark Brighitti, defender Luke Wilkshere, midfielder Tom Rogic and forward Josh Kennedy were dropped from the squad, injured Curtis Good, Adam Sarota and Josh Brillante were already dropped earlier
Promising midfielder Rogic is nursing a groin problem and was deemed unfit by Postecoglou for the tourney
