Injury Update - Luis Montes Out
Mexican midfielder Luis Montes suffered a gruesome injury when he broke his leg in a challenge for the ball during the friendly against Ecuador. The midfielder will miss the World Cup due to the broken leg. The match witnessed another injury scare as the Ecuador midfielder Segundo Castillo, who collided with Montes, was also taken out with a suspected knee injury
Miguel Herrera, Mexico coach, confirmed the news that Montes suffered a broken tibia and fibula. The injury hit match also featured a foot injury suffered by Mexican captain Rafael Marquez, who is now currently under observation. Mexico won the match 3-1
