Italy World Cup Squad

Guiseppe Rossi was one of the major players left out of the Italian final squad announced by coach Cesare Prandeli. Rossi recovered from a knee injury, which put him out of action for nearly four months but couldn't make an impact on his return. Prandeli noted that the striker seemed a bit tentative in play after recovering from a third serious knee injury in his career
Star striker Balotelli would be supported by Cassano, Cerci, Immobile and Insigne in the campaign. Injury ruled out midfielder Riccardo Montolivo and Destro, Romulo, Pasqual and Maggio are the others who were dropped. Ranocchia is not in the squad but will travel to Brazil as a possible backup to injury ridden Andrea Barzhagi
