Cameroon
Cameroon - Group A (Brazil, Croatia, Mexico)
Known to be consistent on the world stage, Cameroon are termed to be one of the African teams that put the continent on the world footballing stage firmly. Known to be a powerhouse in Africa, the inconsistent performances and internal scuffles led to a relative slump in recent times
Profile - The Indomitable Lions
One of the greatest footballing nations of the continent, Cameroon has four African Nations Cups to its name and is a constant contender to World Cup and Confed Cup slots. They made history as the first African team to reach World Cup quarter final by beating Argentina in first round at Italy 1990
Vulnerable to set pieces and low on attacking prowess, Cameroon are adept in scoring from long shots and maintaining clean sheets though

Before reaching 90's quarters, Cameroon qualified once before in 82 Spain. They didn't qualify from their group but remained unbeaten in the tourney with three draws including a 1-1 against Italy. They've also played four more World Cups since and exited in group stage in all those. They've been runners-up in 2003 Confederations Cup, sadly in which one of their players Marc-Vivien Foe collapsed during the semi final and pronounced dead later.
Cameroon also won Sydney Olympics gold medal unbeaten
How They Qualified
After winning the straightforward Group I in the second round of African qualifiers, Cameroon had to contend with higher ranked Tunisian team in the third round play-offs. They held Tunisia to a goal less draw away and won easily 4-1 at home
Prospects - Tough Group
Although Cameroon's long range shots might trouble the hosts a bit, few will expect them to create a major upset. Cameroon task would be making something out of the other group games if they want to entertain any chance of making it further
