The most successful footballing nation with five world championships in its name to go along with two runners-up and a couple of third place finishes. They also have four confederation cup titles currently on unbeaten winning streak stretching back to 2005. Brazil has never won an Olympic gold though they won three silver medals
Qualification - Hosting Their Second World Cup
As hosts Brazil automatically qualified for the 2014 finals which also means they lacked the amount of competitive football while the other qualifying nations were fiercely competing for a place at the World Cup. After exiting 2011 Copa America in quarter-finals, Brazil made up for that by comprehensively winning the only tourney available for them apart from friendlies, the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup
Prospects - Samba Roll is On...
Brazil is considered to be hot favorites to win the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Their being hosts of the tourney would add a bit more pressure. The only time they have previously hosted the cup they were tipped to be outright front-runners but were stumped at the final frontier by Uruguay. whom they might face in the quarter-finals
Brazil's march to July 13th finale wouldn't be a cakewalk though. They are expected to top their group ahead of probably Mexico but will have to contend with either of the last editions finalists as early as the round of 16. Then there will be a possible semi-final with Germany or France and a mouth watering final against Argentina is very likely
